Whitby is certainly becoming very popular indeed, we are edging ever closer to becoming a 52 weeks a year town. From a high season holiday to a quiet mid winter break, the town caters for all comers. Below are just a few of the events happening here at Whitby over a year. Im sure there are a great many more. Check out some of the local websites and social media groups in the sidebar for lost more ideas. You can also view a full Gallery Of Whitby Photographs Here.

January At Whitby

Late December and through into January is becoming a popular time for a visit to Whitby. The New Year Period has a very special feel indeed, and every year seems to get better and better. The restaurants are always busy (book in advance), and the pubs hold a very special festive atmosphere. If the weather stays fine there are often people letting off fireworks all over town as well as many impromptu gatherings and celebrations on Tate Hill Beach. This time of year can also be excellent for witnessing winter storms or taking in some of the night skies in The North York Moors National Park which has now been awarded recognition for its dark sky status.
